Welcome to the Halls of Hope!

The Lay of the Paladin
by Baron Galahad
I face my opponent, unsheath my sword. It sings.
Steel against steel, my cold weapon rings.
Driven back to near-defeat, my lips murmur a prayer,
A true Paladin I am, I vow and I swear.
And ancient weapon, flame-forged from folded steel -
A tool crafted for the worthy, untainted by evil;
Glowing, pulsating, taken over by light,
Instilled, infused, imbued with holy might.

INSIDE THE HALLS OF HOPE.....

There are six main chambers:

The Living Room: This is the main part of the halls. Here, you will find a large, comfortable sofa and two armchairs, along with five green cushions. There are also two beanbags by the crackling fireplace, and a huge pile of logs to throw onto the fire as it begins to die down. In the middle of the room is a large centrepiece - a beautifully carved marble fountain out of which pours melted chocolate. A small coffee table has been placed beside this fountain, with a number of beakers. It is adjoined to the Kitchen. Go north to reach the Sanctuary. Go east to reach the War Room. Go west to reach the Dormitories.

The Sanctuary: This is a place of peace and prayer, dominated by an arched entrance, with a shrine for Paladins to pray at should they wish. This is where ancient relics are kept, and members can choose to anoint their weapons with water from the blesséd font at the entrance of the sanctuary.

The War Room: This is where the members assemble during times of war and conflict - where war councils are held. The room houses a huge table covered with a map of the realm, and small pins which can be used to represent marching forces. In lighter times, this table is often used to play board games. The room opens up into an extension in which the Armoury and training grounds are situated. This training ground is fenced off, and contains a number of straw dummies, a rotating beam for practising acrobatic skills, and a stepladder for reaching high places.

The Kitchen: For any Paladin of culinary slant, this is the place to cook, experiment, and create a dream meal! It is filled with numerous utensils, as well as a huge spit and water supply.

The Dormitories: These are where Paladins may sleep, if they wish. The central room contains a long rack on which hang long nightgowns, and a nearby basket holds pillows. This leads off to bunk-beds in the adjoining north, east and west rooms.

The Library of Learning: This building, linked by a walkway to the main hall, has several special rooms, each covering a specialized area. The first room is called "The Ultimate Answers", and is in place for the Paladins to study their theology; and the answer to the question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Each study carrel is individualized, and would be impossible to cover here in its entirety. The second room is called "Alien Knowledge and Learning", and has records of the secret knowledge of the Riddle Gnome (spoilers!). The third room is called "A Record of the World", and has studies of various aspects of the world the Paladins work in (Major Spoilers!). There is space for other rooms to be added as needed.
