CHARACTER DETAILS
Alternate ID: Myron Cohen
Background/History: Originally Israeli, Myron travelled to the US during his college years, and did his graduate work through the University of Arizona, Pheonix on some ruins in Mexico. He continued on to become a professional archeologist, specializing in the Central and South American ancient cultures. While searching a set of ruins in Columbia, South America, he discovered a new treasure room in which he found a shrine to Tezcatlipoca, the Aztec god of night, shadow and winter. On the shrine was a set of "shadow armor". Eager to claim the discovery for his own, Myron touched the armor -- and was transfixed. Dark lights played over him. The armor disappeared, and he found himself garbed in it. The armor changed his perceptions. Everything appeared as though he was looking through smoked glass; and he could see in the dark normally. His speed and dexterity were greatly increased; and he could see that each of the items of the armor glowed with mystic power. He had became the embodiment of shadow/night, and an avatar for the God. Always opposed to the sun in the Aztec mythology, the God was often seen as evil. Yet it was not so, for Darkness is a necessary counterbalance to the light. He decided to show the benevolence of the night, by bringing to justice those that abused it. Thus, might more people become lovers of the darkness.
He has mastered the power of the armor, and can call it at will. He his continued in his search of the ruins, and in archaelolgy, seeking more knowledge about the Gods and their places. He also became aware of others like him, blessed by the Gods; and some who sought the power for power's sake alone. One in particular became a bitter rival for pieces, as he seeks to control the world through mystic power.
As Nightshade, he has become known to the police, and trusted -- given local police powers. They know that despite his sword, he will not be judge, jury and executioner like some vigilantes. Rather, he will bring them to face the light of the law, and make the streets safer for those who wander the night. This has brought him into comflict with the Mob over time, and they are actively seeking him.
Note: When in hero ID, he cannot speak above a whisper.
Personality/Motivation: He wants to clear the night of refuse, and bring the peace of the darkness to people.
Quote: "You have nothing to fear from the night, unless you do dark deeds under its cover."
Powers/Tactics: His powers come from the armor, though some characteristic changes are permanent. He has the power to create darkness, teleport from shadow to shadow, make people afraid, and damage them with the dark energies of the night. He is fast, and uses his sword with great effectiveness.
