Evan is a young man with a round face whose body shape is frequently changing, and who is always found wearing elastic/waterproof type sweats. He is 5'5 inches tall; at his thinnest he is 156 lbs. At his "roundest" (which is most of the time) he is about 315 lbs. When in hero ID, he wears a costume of royal blue with a white stripe going diagonally across the body. It is an elastic material.

Evan Davies had always been all wet. I mean it. Really. Not a day went by that he didn't look drenched in sweat. Of course, when you are as round as Evan, it's not surprising. After his bath as a child, he looked even rounder! And he sloshed. That's right, folks. He sloshed like a milk jug half full of milk; like a pop bottle that lost its fizz; like an ugly guy at a singles bar who had been there all night... Uh, anyway, suffice it to say that Evan had some strange characterisitcs. But for all that, Evan was popular -- even well loved. He would pull some of the dangdest pranks, and then look at you with those wide eyes in theat round face and its cherubic cheeks and deny everything. And when he laughed! Ho Ho Ho! You had to laugh with him! When Evan laughed, he made Santa Claus look like a piker and Santa's belly like a six pack of abs. When Evan laughed, all of him laughed, and the whole world laughed with him.
Evan Davies is the son of Susan and Morgan Davies. Morgan was Susan's second husband, taken about 10 years after her divorce and the apparent loss of her daughter Kaylee. During that time, she had taken on the superhero persona of Sponge. As Sponge, she was part of a super hero team that operated in the Midwest area. She met Morgan, fell in love, and they married -- with his full knowledge of who she was. Two years later, having moved to Freedom City, they had Evan.
From an early age, Evan showed signs of his abilities. By a year old, his absorption of water from sources was apparent (like every time he took a bath). He grew rounder all the time, and began to "sweat" constantly from the overabundance of water in his system. His mother knew that they could never keep his abilities a complete secret when they began manifesting so young; so she made arrangements to help Evan both cope with his abilities, and keep a relative sense of normalcy in childhood. Susan taught her son about his absorption, even though he showed no signs of expressing the water. They got specially designed clothes to help deal with the changing sizes of the boy, and the overabundance of fluid. She taught him rudimentary methods of coping with the fluid runoff. Using funds she had earned as a hero, and from her brilliant computer work, the Davies arranged for Evan to go to a private boarding school. None of the students knew there was anything particularly different about Evan other than his size and wetness; but the principal, and several teachers were in the loop.
When Evan was about 8 years old (in third grade), he first began to express the water in his system as a jet. They were playing "Capture the flag" with water guns, and Evan had lost his, so he was made a guard. He found someone sneaking up on the flag; He opened his mouth to yell, and Whoosh! Super-soaker city! The kid got knocked back, and drenched. Nobody knew exactly how he did it; but from that point on, Evan became either one of the most popular or hated people in the school -- depending on whose side he was on in any kind of game like that. He was always ready with a shot, and almost never missed.
Of course, there are always those who would bully and tease; and kids are cruel by nature when young. They teased Evan for his roundness, his "weight", and his apparent blubber-belly. From the first grade through the fifth grade, it continued with the teachers doing little to curtail it, since they didn't see it as particularly harmful. It was normal kid stuff. Evan learned to cope in two ways; one, he became a class clown, with a well-developed and cutting sense of humor that was irrepressible. Two, he became a master prankster. Water pranks were his specialty, of course. Many times, the teachers suspected him (especially those who knew his parentage); but he would look at them out of those innocent blue eyes in that cherubic face, and deny it completely. Slips, slides, wet willies, water filled objects when there was no spot to fill them around -- he could do them all. Sometimes, some teachers thought he spent more time thinking up new ways to cause trouble, than study -- but he always came home with straight A's.
As he moved through middle school, and some of the boys began to mature, some of the bullying became much more physical. It didn't seem to make a difference, though. They could punch him, kick him, bend him, make him fall, and it all just seemed to bounce off. And you could be certain of a subtle and embarrassing retaliation later. He seemed almost impervious to physical damage. In fact, he gained several close friends whom he "took under his wing" and protected from those high allowance bullies. He also would help them with homework, etc. They gave him ideas for pranks, and better yet -- targets. It was during one of these times that he discovered that he could move through water from one point to another as well.
Later, four of them became best friends with him. As they went through high school, Evan became more aware of his shape, and girls, and finally had a heart to heart with his mom about his apparent rotundity -- a roundness that didn't seem to affect his vital signs, his physical capabilities, and so many other things. She told him about the source of his powers, and her history as a hero. To take his mind off some of the more "mundane" sticky points of school (girlfriends, of which there were none, etc), he decided he too would be a super hero. He told his best friends after swearing them to secrecy, and they agreed to help. It would be exciting! So he started training. Of course, there was the problem of how to train; he and his friends had no idea. So they made up their own. Two of his friends had high level belts in martial arts; they began training him in that. They figured a super had to track villains, so they all studied police forensics type work, and tracking. A super had to have a cool costume -- but they never could quite figure that one out.
During the martial art training sessions, one of Evan's most potent powers came out. He touched his friend, and ended up putting him in the hospital. It caused a lot of grief, and for a while the training stopped. Even his friends were afraid of him. Evan learned that he needed to control his powers to their absolute, and his friends came to trust him again. They continued to work at making him ready for "the big leagues."
His mother had other plans. Having moved into the superhero scene later in life, she had no intentions of letting him squander his intelligence -- he was going to college! So at the ripe young age of seventeen, he went off to college in Freedom City. Like so many freshman, he was more interested in fraternities and fun than studies, but his intelligence once again kept him at a B level. He continued in that vein during his sophomore year, welcoming his buddies into school and showing them the ropes (they didn't skip any grades). It was during this second year, however, that he met Pyre and had his first real superhero clash. It was also when he forever lost his anonymity. He was at a fraternity party during rush week that one of his friends was interested in, when Pyre decided to have his own "hot time on the old town tonight". He began burning the frat houses with all those socially superior brats and, trying to impress the ladies. Evan was there, and had to decide. Secret ID, or save the people? He didn't even have a costume yet! He ran out onto the lawn of the frat house, and caught Pyre completely by surprise with a water jet. It knocked him out of the sky, 50 feet down the street, and he bounced a couple of times for good measure. Evan followed that up with a good soaking that actually put Pyre out temporarily, and then touched the stunned villain with his devastating dehydration attack. The villain was KO'd, and Evan's life was forever changed as several hundred college students who saw this began cheering and raising Cain for him -- and offering him a beer or two in the bargain. He refused the beer (it goofed up his system, somehow), but soaked up the applause and the praise. His buddies gained 'cause they "knew him when"; and together they were sure this was the way to go. His parents weren't so sure; but he was of legal age. After publicly humiliating Bulldozer during an attempted robbery, and giving him his first bath in a month, he decided at the age of nineteen to apply to the Freedom League. His destiny called.
PERSONALITY:Evan is a cheerful, brash youngster with a very inventive mind and a cutting sense of humor. He is a prankster, and loves to make the bad guys look foolish. He will get back at those who manage to aggravate him, or try to bully him or his friends. He has a heart for all the "underdogs" in life, and the innocent. Despite his cheerfulness and fun-loving nature, he is aware of the seriousness of what he wants to do, and the responsibilities his powers place on him. He is a good team player, having trained since his early teen years with his mates, and knows he needs to work with folks to use his limited repertoire of powers to their best advantage. His relationship with his parents is a little strained, since he went public with his ID, and they really wanted him to stay in school.
TACTICS:Evan's powers come from a metagene passed on to him by his mother, and it activated at an early age. He is primarily a ranged power user, though he can take damage when he has too, and has a devastating touch attack. However, it leaves him vulnerable, and he won't use it unless there is support for it. He can move through water from one spot to the other, but the water has to be continuous in some way (he can't just jump from one puddle to another).
